About Scott Schultz

I am married to a beautiful lady who goes by the name Rita. We have four children, all happily married. We also have four precious grandchildren, three girls and one boy. We have our niece living with us. Her name is Madisyn Decker and she is 16. I am 58, and my wife is a few months younger.

Safe

There is a book titled “Safer Than a Known Way”, and while I have never read the book, the title suggests to me the author knows something about trusting in God.  The reason is the uncomfortable safe way of trusting God.

Hebrews 11:8  By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Most, if not all, of us have a desire to know what the future holds for us and our family.  This is natural because of our inherent nature to live our life by sight.  God’s way is not to show us the future, so trusting God will always be safer than a “known way”.  In all Christians, as we get married and start a family, it comes with a concern that we would live our life in such a way as to secure the future for those we love.  We sometimes go to great lengths to make it as secure as we can.  All of our efforts are futile in securing the future by our standards, because God at any time might call us out to go to a country, not knowing where it is.  This does not feel safe to us, but in all this, the way to secure the future for us, our families, and those we love is in teaching a trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone.
